Operation Cuckoo tournament

On Saturday, March 16, we are organizing an Operation Cuckoo tournament at Zuiderspel. This is the perfect opportunity to test your tactical insight in this simple yet strategic game. Because the game plays quickly, you do not have to spend hours on the tournament, but it can be combined with a normal visit to the fair. The winner of the tournament will receive a luxury wooden board and a standard version of Operation Cuckoo, both signed by the authors. The number two receives a standard version with signatures.

The tournament rules:

– It is a knockout system: you play one against one and the winner moves on to the next round, the loser is out of the tournament.

– A round is ‘best of three’: the first player to win twice advances to the next round.

– Each round has 30 minutes. If all players are ready before then and all players who participate in the next round are present, the next round can start earlier.

– The game is played on the ‘basic’ side of the board.

– If you have moved a playing piece and let it go, you cannot go back. If you are still holding the playing piece, you can go back and even use another playing piece.

Practical points:

– You can register until March 14 via info@jollydutch.com or at Zuiderspel itself at the sales desk until the tournament is full (32 players) and no later than 30 minutes before the start of the tournament. (until 1:30 PM)

– The first round starts on Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m., players must be present no later than 1:55 p.m. – The tournament takes place in the Zuiderspel tournament room (you must purchase your own ticket for the fair).

– The number of rounds depends on the number of players, there is a maximum of 32 players and in that case there are five rounds.
